Christ’s Heart for His Church (Revelation 1-3)
This sermon surveys Jesus’ letters to the churches in Revelation 1–3 to reveal Christ’s loving heart for His church and His ultimate aim: the joy and sanctification of His people. Jesus knows each church completely, commending faithfulness where it exists while confronting heart-level sins such as lost love, compromise, tolerance of sin, and spiritual deadness—not to condemn, but to restore joy and vitality. Through the specific ways He reveals Himself, His targeted commands (remember, repent, hold fast, wake up, and do not fear), and His promises to those who overcome, Jesus shows that He is deeply committed to shaping His church and believers into a joyful, faithful, and spiritually alive people who love Him above performance, comfort, or reputation.
