A Life That Loves The Lord (John 21:15-19
Genuine love for God is not defined by our feelings or preferences, but by Jesus himself through four key characteristics.
Sacrificial love - loving Jesus more than comfort, security, or personal ambitions
Servant-hearted love - demonstrating love for God by caring for His people
Steadfast love - remaining faithful despite past failures, with God's grace enabling restoration
Submissive love - following Jesus completely with undivided allegiance
The major point is that true love for God isn't self-defined or merely emotional, but is demonstrated through concrete actions of sacrifice, service, steadfastness, and submission as defined by Jesus himself.
Importantly, this isn't just Peter's story - it's a universal call to all believers. Just as Jesus told Peter "Follow me," this same command extends to every Christian in every generation. The sermon emphasizes that there aren't different categories of discipleship - all followers of Christ are called to the same standard of love, though their specific paths may differ.
