The Blessed, Blessed, and Blessing (Ephesians 1:3b)

This sermon teaches that true meaning, joy, and contentment are found not in pursuing life changes or even God’s blessings themselves, but in worshiping and abiding in the “blessed God,” who has already lavished every spiritual blessing on believers in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit; Paul emphasizes that these blessings originate in Christ, are applied by the Spirit, extend into every realm where God rules—including our present lives—and are fully possessed now rather than awaited later, with no good thing withheld from those in Christ, all for the ultimate purpose of God’s glory and praise, so that believers live in grateful, wholehearted pursuit of Jesus rather than restless striving for fulfillment elsewhere.
