Christ’s Spoil (Colossians 2:13, 3:3-4)

We have died and are hidden in Christ. As I mentioned to you yesterday, I have been in 1 Samuel 30 and in verse 20 the author said that the recovery of the families and the additional spoil of war was “David’s Spoil.” I want to try to point out the type of Christ that David is in this story and demonstrate that we are “Christ’s Spoil.” We were as good as dead (in fact we were dead spiritually) as David’s family and all the other families that were captured were. But in the type, Christ comes to our rescue and restores us to Himself and gives us so much more that we deserve or ever had prior to Christ’s intervention.
