A Sanctifying God! The Importance of Dying Early (Genesis 22)

This sermon teaches that Genesis 22 reveals God as a sanctifying God who lovingly refines His people by exposing and reordering their affections so that nothing—including even His good gifts—competes with wholehearted trust, obedience, and worship of Him; through Abraham’s test with Isaac, we learn that faith means trusting God’s goodness even when His commands seem confusing, dying to ourselves and misplaced sources of identity, and believing that God is both trustworthy and ultimately for our joy, as He uses both painful tests and lifelong obedience to conform us to Christ and lead us into true, lasting life.
