The Promised Holy Spirit, Part 2 (Ephesians 1:13-14)

This sermon on Ephesians 1:13–14 explains that the Holy Spirit is the promised gift of God, given to every believer at conversion as both the seal and guarantee of salvation. The Spirit’s presence confirms that believers belong to God, authenticates them as His children, produces holiness in them, and secures the inheritance God has promised. More than merely pledging future blessing, the Holy Spirit is a present foretaste of that inheritance—bringing joy, fellowship, deeper knowledge of Christ, and victory over sin now as previews of what will be fully experienced in glory. The sermon also emphasizes that salvation is not ultimately centered on what believers receive, but on God’s eternal purpose to redeem a people for Christ as His inheritance, so that the Father, Son, and Spirit are glorified through the worship, holiness, and eternal joy of the redeemed.
