The Rewards of Walking Worthy (Colossians 3:23-24)

This sermon teaches that all believers—wives, husbands, children, parents, and workers—are called to live every part of life “for the Lord” with the confidence that God both sees our true motives and graciously rewards faithful obedience, not as a way of earning salvation but as a reflection of His character as a rewarding Father. Paul’s promise in Colossians 3:23–24 applies broadly to every Christian role, reminding us that Christ has already fully secured our salvation through His atoning work, leaving no room for merit-based righteousness, yet still holding out real and motivating rewards for faithfulness. God’s omniscience exposes hypocrisy, Christ’s atonement removes condemnation, and the future “judgment seat of Christ” reveals and rewards what was genuinely done for His glory. Our inheritance includes God’s sovereign choice, His energizing power to live the Christian life, and the ultimate display of His glory in our salvation, all of which rightly motivate us to pursue righteousness with sincere hearts aimed at pleasing Christ, not earning His favor.
