Sun Valley Church: Who We Are! (Selected Scriptures)

This sermon articulates Sun Valley Church’s purpose of intentionally cultivating a church culture that is Gospel-Centered, Grace-Driven, and Mission-Minded, grounded in the belief that the gospel is not only the means of salvation but also the ongoing power of transformation for both believers and unbelievers. It contrasts religion and the gospel to show that true Christian life flows from God’s grace in Christ rather than human effort, shaping how we relate to God, ourselves, and others with humility, confidence, and love. A grace-driven culture emphasizes repentance, heart-level change, and hope for all people, rejecting guilt-based motivation and superficial behavior modification. As believers grow deeper in the gospel and live out grace, they naturally become mission-minded, participating in God’s redemptive mission with compassion, courage, and hope—proclaiming the good news of Jesus not to condemn the world, but to serve as a lifeboat of hope to those drowning in sin and despair.
